Style Shoot with Comfort Photography

There is nothing like new inventory! I love finding new items that can help enhance an already fabulous wedding. We spoke with the ever amazing Comfort of Comfort Photography and set up a style shoot at Winding Hollow Golf Club. Keisha is an amazing event coordinator for that venue and will do anything that you need. She runs an absolutely gorgeous venue in New Albany for any brides that are looking for a stunning place to get married.

Below are some of the lovely shots from the shoot. So happy we finally got a photo of the Chuppah!

A Bride's B.F.F & New Inventory!

On Saturday, we were so fortunate to be a part of the Bride's B.F.F (Budget Friendly Finds) event hosted by Eventfully Yours, LLC at the Everal Barn in Westerville. A wonderful time was had by all and we met some amazing new vendors (like our booth neighbor, DJ Outlaw), as well as some familar faces (Tons of love to Neil and Leann of Niflr Menswear & Liz of New York Life--you all always make events fun).

We were able to premiere our new Semi-DIY line as a budget-friendly option for brides. The idea behind this line is to provide you with the tools to create your own fabulous centerpieces. The interchangeable componenets include a 14 inch round mirror, a trio of cylinders (or one larger cylinder) and three crystal votives w/ long burning tealights. All you need to do is head to your local florist or Michaels to purchase the flowers/floating candles needed to make it your own. This look is just 15 dollars and a great alternative for anyone that wants a lovely centerpiece without the hassle of buying glassware. Also, you can add submersible led lights and led tealights in the crystal votives for just three dollars more.

Another new item is our Reversible Trumpet Vase. This beautiful vase can be used on either end and filled with water beads/lights to create a stunning effect. Rent it alone or pair it with our 10in crystal globe. Inspired by Florida design group, Suhaag Gardens, this look can be paired with a wreath of flowers, hanging crystals, and led lights, to truly make an original statement.

Finally, check out our 36 inch crystal globe centerpiece. New this year, these centerpieces can create a modern guest table or act as funky aisle markers instead of the standard pillar. In addition to our regular bright white led lights, we also have remote controlled led lights that feature 13 amazing colors. These centerpieces would be perfect for birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, or a sparkly sweet sixteen!

Check out our updated "crystal decor rentals" tab for some new accent crystal options. And remember that you are always welcome to call or email with other questions. Have a lovely day!

Rustic & Elegant

The outdoors can be beautiful...sunsets on the horizon, a star-filled sky. It's unsurprising that one of the biggest wedding trends of late has had to do with nature.

Trend Alert: Rustic.

Rustic decor can incorporate the beauty of nature into your wedding day. It is a wonderful choice for couples who like the outdoors while enjoying the creature comforts of a formal venue. Many people often think rustic and elegant are opposite concepts, but they couldn't be more wrong. Pairing outdoorsy elements with warm candles and linens can create a comforting atmosphere for your entire wedding reception.

Meet Tricia and Josh.

Tricia was an out-of-state bride who wanted to combine natural wood accents with the beauty of the Columbus Renaissance Hotel for her reception. We originally considered burlap runners, but ended up using taupe runners instead, giving her tables a finished look while still staying in a neutral color family.

She used wooden boxes for her centerpieces filled with full, white hydrangeas. These paired very well with her wooden table numbers. The runners were tied at each end with twine to stay with her theme.

I loved her cake stand as well as this amazing cake. The burlap ribbon on each level was fabulous.

Tricia also used our mason jars filled with beads and a floating candle at the head table, tying each one off with raffia ribbon. I also thought her use of twine on the bridemaid bouquet vases were an elegant touch.

Mmmm...Cake

Ok, so I have a secret. I've never really been a huge cake person. Terrible, right?

I apparently stopped eating cake on my 8th birthday. I had an awesome Beauty and the Beast cake (Belle was the Disney princess that taught us that women can be smart and pretty!). But for whatever reason, I gave up on cake that year. There are very few cakes that will make me pause and say "mmmm" (see preferred cake vendors). But I recently saw this cupcake tower and now I just, rather irrationally, want it. My husband, who typically supports my every decision, whipped out his veto card on this one for several reasons:

One: We are not bakers, nor are we cake vendors. I'm going to have to agree with him on this one. I tried baking cupcakes the other day...tried being the operative word. Pretty sure Pillsbury's Funfetti recipe is not supposed to taste like a dry, stale muffin.

Two: It's a cool grand. Sad but true. Pretty sure if we spent 1000 dollars on a cupcake stand, Ben would just point to it every time he wanted a new Xbox 360 game (60 dollars for him to beat it in 3 days? Seriously?)

So I'm content to just look at it. Sigh with me, Blog Nation. I love the way it sparkles.

J Nicole 's Day Spa & Salon

Hello all!

Today I'm taking a little bit of time to write a review of a local vendor, J. Nicole's Day Spa and Salon. I had some hair extensions done there a few weeks ago, and they are still going strong. You may have heard about them on the radio thru WNCI or some other radio spots, but I wanted to try them for myself.

I know extensions are a great option for brides who want to add length on their wedding day. Personally, I've worn them off and on for years. The only downside is that usually they are very damaging to your hair (esp. with sew-ins, etc). Fortunately the team at J Nicole uses an awesome bonding method (think about a tiny plastic clamp) that they attach, strand by strand, to your hair. The whole process took about an hour and I've been told these can last up to 6 months with proper maintenance.

Now don't get me wrong...hair extensions can be very pricey. However, for 5-6 months of lovely hair, I will take it. Besides, a big part of their appeal is the ladies themselves.  Brittany, my stylist, is the sweetest girl I've ever met. I did worry that perhaps she didn't have a lot of experience working with my hair type--but she did a fabulous job and color matched the extensions to my hair perfectly.

Nestled in old Pickerington, you may miss the salon on your first trip. It's housed in an old, white Victorian home, that is comfortable and inviting. The walls are decorated with vintage guitars and photos of the Beatles and other 60s icons.

I only wish I had known about them when I was getting married. They offer a lot of services, from lash extensions and facials, to manicures and massages and would be perfect for a bridal party spa day.

Ashley and Patrick's Wedding

Since this blog is pretty new, I wanted to highlight some of the fabulous weddings we were a part of in 2012.

Meet Ashley and Patrick

I met Ashley a few months before her September wedding with her mom. She knew the exact look that she wanted with the Crystal Candelabras. I hadn't done a wedding with a flower wreath at the base of the candelabra, and now it's my favorite look. Her wedding was at the Worthington Inn, which is perfect for a small, intimate reception (the upstairs ballroom seats about 90).

Mac with Addvision Studios did the wonderful photography displayed above. Simply lovely.
