Rustic & Elegant

The outdoors can be beautiful...sunsets on the horizon, a star-filled sky. It's unsurprising that one of the biggest wedding trends of late has had to do with nature.

Trend Alert: Rustic.

Rustic decor can incorporate the beauty of nature into your wedding day. It is a wonderful choice for couples who like the outdoors while enjoying the creature comforts of a formal venue. Many people often think rustic and elegant are opposite concepts, but they couldn't be more wrong. Pairing outdoorsy elements with warm candles and linens can create a comforting atmosphere for your entire wedding reception.

Meet Tricia and Josh.

Tricia was an out-of-state bride who wanted to combine natural wood accents with the beauty of the Columbus Renaissance Hotel for her reception. We originally considered burlap runners, but ended up using taupe runners instead, giving her tables a finished look while still staying in a neutral color family.

She used wooden boxes for her centerpieces filled with full, white hydrangeas. These paired very well with her wooden table numbers. The runners were tied at each end with twine to stay with her theme.

I loved her cake stand as well as this amazing cake. The burlap ribbon on each level was fabulous.

Tricia also used our mason jars filled with beads and a floating candle at the head table, tying each one off with raffia ribbon. I also thought her use of twine on the bridemaid bouquet vases were an elegant touch.

  1. Yeah I completely agree that this is very elegant. I am totally in love with these photos from this gorgeous rustic wedding ceremony. At some local party Venues in San Francisco my own sister had a DIY rustic themed wedding which turned out to be super amazing.
